Diarrhoea Home remedies,Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment. Diarrhoea in children is a disorder of intestine in which  abnormal frequency and fluidity of faeces. Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death in children under five years old and also causes malnutrition. It is both preventable and treatable.

  • Bowel infection (gastroenteritis), infection due to virus, bacteria or a parasite
  • Anxiety and stress
  • High alcohol consumption
  • High fiber intake

Types of Diarrhoea

There are 5 types of diarrhea

Osmotic Diarrhea

In this case digestive system unable to absorb sugar. Such as lactose and fructose, sugar in alcohols (sorbitol) and some minerals like magnesium, sulphate and phosphate.

Sugar free diet help to treat osmotic diarrhoea. Instead of glucose, fructose can be used.

Secretory Diarrhoea

It is caused by secretion of water and salts by intestine into the stools. May be because of infections. The infections release toxins that secrete water and salt by interfering with the intestines.

Exudative Diarrhoea

When blood or mucus comes due to inflammation of the lining of the colon. This type of diarrhoea can be caused by a number of conditions such as tuberculosis, cancers and irrigational bowel disease.

Paradoxical Diarrhea

It is not actual diarrhoea because only symptoms are like diarrhea. But it is complicated condition of constipation. It is very common among children, senior citizens or adults with limited mobility or mental capacity.

Pseudo diarrhea

This type of diarrhoea occur due to overuse of laxatives.

Diarrhea treatment

  • Antibiotics or medicines prescribed by the doctor
  • If virus generated diarrhoea then antibiotic won’t work

Diarrhoea Home remedies 

  • Take plenty of clear liquids, including water, broths and juices
  • Consume high-potassium and sodium foods and liquids
  • Avoid dairy products and high fiber food
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol

Diarrhoea is common problem in young children. Because of bad habit of eating or weak immunity or any other reasons.

Moderate dehydration due to diarrhoea is normal can be treated easily. But if dehydration becomes severe, it can be dangerous. Dehydration can be very dangerous, especially for babies and toddlers. Children can even die if they are not treated.

Take doctor’s advice when diarrhea remains more than 5 days. Common features of moderate or severe dehydration include markedly decreased urination, lack of tears when crying, dry mouth, and sunken eyes.

Diarrhea with blood

Also call as red diarrhea. It is a critical condition in which blood get mix in with loose, watery stools. Bloody diarrhea is often a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding due to injury or disease.
