In today’s risky world of fatal diseases, breast cancer is one of them. Every year thousands of women are diagnosed with breast cancer, so it is necessary to understand the breast cancer and their types.

Early diagnosis can help women in many ways.

There are several types of breast cancer, which can be divided into two main categories: “invasive” and “noninvasive,” or in situ.

These two categories are used to describe the most common types of breast cancer, which include:

Ductal carcinoma: In this type of breast cancer affected cells do not invade the surrounding breast tissue

Lobular carcinoma: It mainly affects the milk producing glands of breast and it is also does not invade surrounding breast tissue.

Invasive ductal carcinoma: It is the most common type of breast cancer.

It has ability to invade surrounding breast tissue and other organ of body. Milk ducts mainly affected.

Invasive lobular carcinoma: It first develops in breast’s lobules. If breast cancer is diagnosed as ILC, it has already spread to nearby tissue and organs.

Common types of breast cancer include:

Paget disease of the nipple: This type of breast cancer begins in the breasts’ ducts, but as it grows, it begins to affect the skin and areola of the nipple.

Phyllodes tumor: This very rare type of breast cancer grows in the connective tissue of the breast.

Angiosarcoma: This cancer that grows on the blood vessels or lymph vessels in the breast.

Inflammatory breast cancer

Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is a rare but aggressive type of breast cancer. It holds only 1 to 5 % of all breast cancer cases.

Here cells block the lymph nodes near the breasts, so the lymph vessels in the breast can’t properly drain. Instead of creating a tumor, IBC causes breast to swell, look red, and feel very warm. A cancerous breast may appear pitted and thick, like an orange peel.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer

It is the rare type of disease, affecting only about 10 to 20% of people with breast cancer. A tumor must have all three of the following characteristics to be diagnosed as triple negative breast cancer

It lacks estrogen receptors

It lacks progesterone receptors

It doesn’t have additional HER2 proteins on its surface

If a tumor meets these three criteria, it is considered as a triple-negative breast cancer. This type of breast cancer has a tendency to grow and spread more quickly than other types of breast cancer.

Triple-negative breast cancers are difficult to treat because traditional breast cancer treatments are not effective

Metastatic Breast Cancer

Metastatic breast cancer is another name for stage 4 breast cancer. It’s breast cancer that has spread from breast to other parts of your body, such as bones, lungs, or liver.
